Rabat — The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) participated as the main sponsor in the third edition of the Qatar Travel Mart (QTM), held from November 25 to 27, 2024, in Doha. The North African country  participated as part of the Qatar-Morocco Years of Culture 2024 initiative.

Morocco achieved a significant milestone at the event, receiving the “Best Cultural Experience” award, which asserts the country’s strong appeal in cultural tourism. This accolade recognizes the ONMT‘s dedicated efforts to highlight Morocco’s rich heritage to a global audience.

Qatar Travel Mart 2024 served as a major gathering for global travel and tourism professionals, with an emphasis on tourism, leisure, luxury, and business travel. The event brought together key industry players, including tour operators, airlines, and travel technology companies, to discuss the latest trends and opportunities within the sector.

ONMT maximized its presence at the event by utilizing various communication platforms and engaging in numerous side events, where it presented Morocco’s cultural and tourism assets. This provided an opportunity to strengthen partnerships with Qatari tourism stakeholders and position Morocco as a key destination for Qatari travelers.

The event also served as an opportunity to showcase the ongoing “Years of Culture” program, with Morocco serving as Qatar’s cultural partner for 2024. This initiative is focused on strengthening ties between the two nations through a series of major exhibitions, cultural events, and festivals, further solidifying Morocco’s presence in Qatar and its role as a cultural hub in the region.

The Dar El Maghreb Pavilion at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) and the “Splendors of the Atlas” exhibition, featuring 200 rare pieces of Moroccan heritage, were key attractions during the event. These exhibitions provided visitors with an opportunity to experience the essence of Morocco’s culture, offering a glimpse into the country’s rich history and diverse traditions.

The success at Qatar Travel Mart marks another milestone in ONMT’s ongoing efforts to elevate Morocco’s status as a world-class tourism destination recognited as Best Cultural Experience, alongside the strategic partnerships forged at the event, will further cement Morocco’s position as a key player in the global tourism industry.

Through its active participation in QTM 2024 and its role in the Qatar-Morocco Years of Culture 2024 initiative, ONMT continues to drive forward Morocco’s cultural diplomacy and tourism promotion, bringing the Kingdom of Light into the international spotlight.
