Rabat – On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, King Mohammed VI of Morocco delivered a powerful message reaffirming the Kingdom’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.

Addressed to Sheikh Niang, President of the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, the message expressed Morocco’s commitment to both political advocacy and humanitarian assistance for Palestine, particularly in light of Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.

King Mohammed VI began his message by reaffirming the pivotal role of the Palestinian cause in achieving regional harmony, describing it as “the key for establishing peace, security, and stability in the Middle East.”

He reiterated Morocco’s unwavering stance, declaring Gaza to be “an integral part of the Palestinian territories,” and reaffirming Morocco’s full support for Palestine’s independence.

The King also expressed grave concern over the genocide in Gaza, which has persisted since October 7, 2023, condemning the Israeli Occupation Force (IOF) massacres that have resulted in countless civilian casualties.

He called for a “comprehensive and immediate ceasefire” to end the ongoing genocide and urged the international community to “support and protect human rights in the Palestinian territories.”

In his message, the monarch outlined key actions for the international community to address the humanitarian catastrophe. He called for the “immediate and permanent opening of all crossing points” to facilitate the delivery of essential aid, including “humanitarian supplies, medical assistance, and essential products.”

The King also said that “the protection of civilians on all Palestinian territories must be ensured and they must not be targeted or put in danger of death.”

Additionally, the monarch referenced Morocco’s ongoing efforts to provide aid, noting, “I have ordered, on three occasions, that urgent humanitarian and medical assistance be sent to the Gaza Strip.”

These shipments, including critical medical supplies and equipment for treating burns and conducting emergency surgeries.

King Mohammed VI called for ongoing support towards the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), describing it as “vital to supporting the Palestinian refugees.”

He also reiterated Morocco’s commitment to “diplomatic action aimed at protecting the legal, historical, and demographic status of Al-Qods.”

As President of the Al-Qods Committee, the King reaffirmed Morocco’s dedication to defending Jerusalem, stating, “We are personally committed to deploying all our efforts to preserve the legal, historical, and demographic status of Al-Qods, as a sacred city for the followers of the three monotheistic religions.”

In the same vein, the King urged the international community to intensify diplomatic efforts, calling for all parties to engage in “serious and constructive negotiations” to achieve a just and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian issue.

He also expressed strong support for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and pledged continued backing for the Palestinian National Authority, declaring, “The Kingdom of Morocco, as it has done in different regional and international forums, reaffirms its commitment to this cause and will spare no effort in supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.”
