Rabat – Today in Rabat, Chief of Government Aziz Akhannouch welcomed Suminwa Tuluka Judith, the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), for talks aimed at bolstering bilateral relations between the two countries.
The meeting marked a pivotal moment in the strengthening of Morocco-DRC relations, as both countries work to deepen their historical ties and enhance cooperation across various sectors.
Prime Minister Judith’s visit is part of broader efforts to solidify diplomatic and economic partnerships.
During the talks, Akhannouch congratulated Judith on her appointment as the first female Prime Minister of the DRC in April 2024, acknowledging her leadership and the significant political progress underway in her country.

The meeting reinforced the strong and enduring ties between Rabat and Kinshasa, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening cooperation.
The leaders discussed the significance of these relations, particularly Morocco’s ongoing peacekeeping support in the DRC since the 1960s, which reflects the shared values of national unity and territorial integrity.
Economic collaboration was a key topic, with both leaders exploring ways to boost bilateral trade. Initiatives such as the upcoming session of the Joint Commission and the revitalization of the Morocco-DRC Business Council were seen as vital to fostering stronger economic ties and creating new growth opportunities.
In addition to economic partnership, the two countries share common positions on key international issues.
The DRC’s steadfast support for Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara and its decision to open a consulate in Dakhla in December of 2020 further cemented their diplomatic solidarity.
This meeting signals a renewed commitment to strengthening the partnership between Morocco and the DRC, with both countries determined to collaborate for mutual prosperity and continued progress in areas of peace, security, and economic development.
