Rabat – MP Industry Group, a Romanian automotive supplier, inaugurated its first factory in Morocco on Friday, marking a significant milestone in the country’s automotive industry.

Located at Tanger Automotive City (TAC), the new factory is a testament to Morocco’s growing appeal as a manufacturing hub. The facility, built on a 35,000 square meter plot, will produce plastic components for the automotive industry using advanced injection molding technology.

The project is backed by a 437.62 million dirham investment, and it is expected to create 150 direct jobs.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Industry and Trade Minister Ryad Mezzour and Ahmed Bennis, CEO of Tanger Med Zones (TMZ).

“This project, developed within the Renault ecosystem, once again demonstrates the attractiveness of our industrial platform,” said Minister Mezzour.

He added that the new factory would contribute to the expansion of local value chains and strengthen Morocco’s productive fabric.

“We are particularly pleased with this partnership with MP Industry and Romanian investors,” said Bennis. “Our ambition is to contribute to strengthening their international competitiveness while continuing to promote the industrial integration of Morocco’s automotive sector.”

Jean Drugescu, CEO of Metaplast and MP Industry Group, expressed optimism about the company’s future in Morocco. “With the growth of the automotive industry and the potential of African markets, MP Industry Group is on the brink of a promising future, particularly in Morocco,” he said.

The new factory is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and incorporates sustainable practices, including photovoltaic panels and plastic waste recycling lines.

The facility is expected to play a crucial role in boosting Morocco’s automotive industry and reinforcing its position as a key player in the global automotive market.
