Rabat – The European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Union (EU), and Bank of Africa, in partnership with the Souss-Massa Regional Council, marked the conclusion of the “Grow & Pitch” program with a ceremony celebrating innovation and impact in the Souss-Massa region.

Five cooperatives were honored for their projects, including the Taitmatine Women’s Agricultural Cooperative which was awarded the first prize.

HomeSecret won the second prize, while Tifaout Women’s Agricultural Cooperative received the third prize,  followed by Siman Nature, and Zaki Natural Agricultural Cooperative.

The program focused on fostering sustainable development and economic empowerment.

Launched in July 2024, the initiative focused on strengthening local cooperatives as catalysts for economic and social transformation.

A joint statement from the banks said that an initial phase of an online workshop in September, had benefited more than 200 cooperatives.

Twenty-five organizations participated in in-person training sessions from October to December with tailored support to help their projects.

The training sessions covered important topics including digital marketing, e-commerce, exports, governance, and financial management.

The project mainly focused on women’s empowerment, enabling managers and active members of cooperatives to boost their skills and know-how.

This capacity-building aimed at supporting their role in wealth creation and economic inclusion.

Deputy CEO of Bank Africa Brahim Benjelloun Touimi said the bank has been promoting entrepreneurship and the emergence of businesses with high social impact.

“We are therefore particularly proud to celebrate the first cohort of the ‘Grow & Pitch’ program in the Souss0Massa region, alongside our esteemed partner, the European investment Bank, and with the support of the European Union,” he said.

Head of the EIB Representation in Morocco Adrien de Bassompierre also expressed his satisfaction with the program, which was made possible with EU support.

“Most importantly, it highlights the dynamism of the cooperatives in the Souss-Massa region, key players in territorial  development, value creation and inclusion.”

Patricia LIombart Cussac, the EU ambassador to Morocco, also commended the success of the program, noting that it reflects the organization’s commitment to supporting local initiatives.
