Rabat– The Moroccan Preschool Foundation (FMPS) has made significant progress toward realizing its “Atfalouna 2030” vision, a nationwide initiative aimed at providing all Moroccan children with access to quality preschool education.

This year, the Foundation expanded its network with the opening of more than 24,000 new preschool classes, bringing the total to 24,332 across the kingdom. This expansion is expected to serve approximately 380,000 children, increasing the national preschool enrollment rate to 83%.

The FMPS recognizes that early childhood education plays a pivotal role in shaping a child’s cognitive, social, and emotional development. As such, expanding access to quality preschool programs has been a key priority.

The “Atfalouna 2030” vision provides the roadmap for these efforts, ensuring every child in Morocco has the opportunity to benefit from a strong educational foundation.

In addition to expanding access, the FMPS has focused on improving the quality of preschool education. One of the key initiatives introduced this year is a system to label preschool classes based on established quality standards.

A pilot project launched in 2024 has started the process of evaluating and certifying preschools, encouraging continuous improvement and ensuring that all children receive a high standard of education.

To monitor the effectiveness of its programs, the FMPS has also implemented a pilot end-of-cycle assessment in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education. This initiative evaluates children’s learning outcomes at the end of their senior preschool year, providing valuable insights into their progress and identifying areas for refinement in both curriculum and teaching methodologies.

With these developments, the FMPS is not only increasing access to early education but also contributing to the long-term development of Morocco’s human capital. Through continued innovation and collaboration with key stakeholders, the Foundation is on track to achieve its “Atfalouna 2030” vision, ensuring a brighter future for all Moroccan children.
