Meknes – Real Madrid have broken one of the most prestigious club records in World Cup history following a two-goal performance by Jude Bellingham against Norway.
The English midfielder’s performance brought the total number of goals scored by Real Madrid players in the tournament to 19.
The Spanish club surpassed the previous record of 18 goals, which was shared by three clubs: Honvéd in 1954, Bayern Munich in 2014, and PSG in 2022.
Kylian Mbappé leads the scoring charts for Real Madrid players at the 2026 FIFA World Cup with an impressive eight goals, closely followed by Jude Bellingham in second place with six.
The rest of Madrid’s 19-goal tournament total came from players whose countries have already been knocked out. VinÃcius Jr. contributed four goals before Brazil’s exit, while Arda Güler scored one group-stage goal for Turkey.
By reaching 19 goals, Real Madrid stands alone at the top, beating three unforgettable club campaigns that previously shared the 18-goal record.
The benchmark was originally set in 1954 by the iconic Hungarian club Honvéd. Their historic run was largely powered by tournament top-scorer Sándor Kocsis, who delivered an incredible 11-goal haul.
Six decades later, Bayern Munich equaled that standard during the 2014 tournament. The German giants matched the 18-goal mark with Thomas Müller leading their charge by netting five goals.
Most recently, PSG joined the elite group at the 2022 World Cup. The French side relied on the dominant duo of Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi, who finished as the tournament’s top two goalscorers, with Mbappé netting eight and Messi scoring seven.
With Mbappé and Bellingham still active in the tournament, Real Madrid now has the perfect opportunity to extend this historic goalscoring record even further before the 2026 FIFA World Cup concludes.
