Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is renewing its commitment to boosting Morocco’s sports development with the creation of EVOSPORT, an initiative in line with the country’s approach aimed at making sport a driver of socio-economic progress.
The initiative, a subsidiary dedicated to sports development, aims to support the development of talent and the establishment of modern sports infrastructure, UM6P announced in a statement today.
The subsidiary will be in charge of implementing a program that is the fruit of the National Training Fund, a partnership between the Royal Football Federation (FRMF), the OCP Group, and other private actors, the statement detailed.
It added that the initiative will focus on training and innovation offering academic programs and innovative solutions aimed at addressing the needs of the Moroccan sports industry.
In addition, the project will explore sports as a lever for socio-economic development contributing to boosting Morocco’s sporting ecosystem at both the national and continental levels.
UM6P President Hicham El Habti commended the launch of the initiative, noting that EVOSPORT reflects the school’s ambition to make sport a lever for human, social, and economic development.

“By investing in talent and sports infrastructure, we aim to sustainably structure the sector in Morocco and support the emergence of a new generation of talents who will contribute to the growth of sport on the African continent,” El Habti said today.
The initiative comes as Morocco is continuing its efforts to make sports one of its priorities to promote youth inclusion and empowerment.
In recent years, the North African kingdom has consistently pledged to create many programs and initiatives in line with its strategy to empower youth.
Morocco has also gained momentum in the field, notably strengthening its position in world football following its national team’s heroics at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and its bids to host prestigious tournaments.
On Wednesday, FIFA officially announced Morocco as a co-host of the 2030 World Cup along with Spain and Portugal. The North African country will also host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
