Rabat – Moroccan defender Nayef Aguerd has been named Real Sociedad’s MVP for November, cementing his place as a standout performer in the Basque team this season.
Aguerd’s contribution was evident in his five appearances this month, spanning La Liga and Europa League matches.
The 27-year-old demonstrated exceptional precision with an 87% pass success rate. He also completed 72 decisive actions, and recorded six recoveries.
Additionally, the player showcased his endurance by covering an average of 11 kilometers per game, reflecting his pivotal role in both defense and transitions.
A summer loan signing from Premier League club West Ham, Aguerd has seamlessly adapted to Real Sociedad’s style of play. The Moroccan international, known for his composure and tactical awareness, quickly earned the trust of coach Imanol Alguacil.
Aguerd has already been featured in 14 matches across all competitions this season, proving his consistency and value to the team.
His ability to deliver strong performances under pressure has contributed to Real Sociedad’s steady progress domestically and in Europe.
In December 2023, Aguerd was named among the 27 players chosen by coach Walid Regragui to represent Morocco in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
His success at Real Sociedad comes as no surprise, given his prior achievements with Rennes in Ligue 1 and his contribution to Morocco’s historic World Cup run in 2022.
