FC Barcelona head to Valencia on Tuesday night for Copa del Rey quarter-finals. The Catalan giants will be full of confidence after their recent run of strong form, while Valencia is still struggling at the bottom of the La Liga table.

The game kicks off at 9:30 p.m Moroccan time at Estadio de Mestalla, Valencia. Fans can catch the action live on SCC 1 and L’Équipe.

The Catalans are fresh off a tight 1-0 win over Deportivo Alaves in La Liga over the weekend and are closing in on Real Madrid with only four points adrift.

Hansi Flick’s men defeated Real Betis 5-1 in the Round of 16 of the Copa del Rey. Meanwhile, Valencia edged past lower-league side Ourense CF with a 2-0 win.

Valencia are woeful this season and sit 18th in La Liga standing with four points from safety. However, they have improved under new boss Carlos Corberan, winning four of their last seven games. They come into this match on the back of a key 1-0 win over Celta Vigo.

Corberan will be missing key right-back Thierry Correira, who is out with a season-ending knee injury. There are also doubts over Hugo Duro and Dmimitri Foulquier, while new signing Ivan Jaime could make his debut.

Barca, on the other hand, have a few injury problems. Gavi, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Andreas Christensen, Dani Olmo, and Marc bernal are all unavailable. Flick is expected to rotate his team, but the goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny will certainly stand between the posts.

Predicted lineups

Valencia (4-2-3-1): Dimitrievski; Aarons, Tarrega, Mosquera, Gaya; Guerra, Pepelu; Lopez, Almeida, Rioja; Sadiq.

Barcelona (4-2-3-1): Szczesny; Kounde, Garcia, Cubarsi, Balde; Casado, De Jong; Yamal, Lopez, Raphinha; Lewandowski.

The Catalan outfit haven’t won the competition since 2020/21 and are chasing their second piece of silverware under Hansi Flick. Having thrashed Valencia 7-1 during their La Liga meeting at the end of January, the Catalan giants will be full of confidence for the upcoming duel as they seek safe passage to reach the semi-finals.
