Rabat – Young Moroccan defender Adam Aznou has officially joined Real Valladolid on loan from Bayern Munich. The Spanish club announced the deal on Monday evening.
The club said in a statement that “Real Valladolid has strengthened its defensive line with Adam Aznou Ben Cheikh, following the agreement with FC Bayern Munich for the transfer of his federation rights.”
This means that the 18-year-old footballer will don the violet and white jersey until the end of the season.
Born in Barcelona, Aznou developed his skills at La Masia, FC Barcelona’s youth academy, and the youth ranks of CF Damm.
He joined FB Bayern in the summer of 2022, playing in their under-17 team before moving up to the under-19 squad. He then became part of the club’s reserve team before making his professional debut with Munich’s first team. He appeared in two Bundesliga matches and one UEFA Champions League game with the team.
Aznou received a call-up from head coach of Morocco’s national team, Walid Regragui, to play in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) last November.
The young player expressed pride in playing alongside the Atlas Lions. “Very happy to be part of the Moroccan national team again,” he said in October.
After debuting with the national team, Aznou said he had “dreamed of this moment since childhood” and was proud to have fulfilled it. “It’s always an honor to wear this jersey,” he added.
Real Valladolid is set to officially present Aznou on Wednesday, along with Ghanaian defender Joseph Aidoo.
