Rabat – Three Moroccan researchers from Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) have won Grand Gold Medal with Jury Honor at the 15th edition of the International Invention Fair in the Middle East (IIFME 2025). The event took place from February 16 to 19 in Kuwait.
The Moroccan team, which consisted of researchers Hafid Griguer, Younes Zaarour, and Rafiq El Alami, received recognition for their technological invention aimed at securing documents using digital identities.
Their invention uses an innovative technology called T3 to safeguard the authenticity of official documents and prevent tampering.
This system integrates digital authentication with physical identity and allows it to combine paper documents with a digital system to ensure their authenticity and enhance security.
This technology also earned recognition at the 2024 World Summit Awards (WSA), where it was recognized as one of the best global technological innovations.
In a post on Linkedin, Griguer expressed pride for this recognition, noting that their innovation also received the Grand Prize of the Arab Labor Organization, under the League of Arab States, “for its significant contribution to technological and administrative advancements in the region.”
He said that their technology, developed by SensThings, “revolutionizes document security by integrating digital certification with the phygital identity, providing a powerful shield against fraud and forgery.”
For Griguer, this achievement reflects the “power of Moroccan innovation and excellence.”
The event’s award ceremony saw the attendance of notable figures, including the representative of the Crown Prince of Kuwait, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and Morocco’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Ali Benaissa.
