“It’s an honor to be at the best club in the world and play 100 matches with this shirt. It’s a pride for me and my loved ones. I get goosebumps because it’s something unique that will always be there. I’m really excited, I hope I play many more,” he explained.
“This club is everything. Real Madrid is greatness in every sense, and that shows every time you step onto the pitch and wear this shirt. I want to give my all for this club and its fans. It’s unique to be in Madrid.”
On Real Madrid’s win against Sociedad, Díaz said: “Playing in this stadium [Reale Arena] is always tough, but we played well and won. It wasn’t easy, but the team did great. Despite everything, I think we played a great game.”
Brahim shared a warm moment with his countryman Nayef Aguerd before kick-off. The Moroccan duo joked for a bit and were gifted two artworks, with a caricature of both players riding two racing cars carrying a Moroccan flag at the back the title “Road to the Final.”
Real Madrid is on an impressive run, knocking Manchester City out of the Champions league with a commanding display, and going unbeaten in the last seven games.
“We’re in great form right now. We need to keep this going. This is the best club in the world because we always perform when it matters,” Diaz said. “We’re proving that once again as we fight for everything. This is Madrid, and we want to win every title. Let’s keep pushing forward.”
At just 19 years old, Brahim Diaz joined Real Madrid in January 2019 for a reported €17 million after impressing in Manchester City’s youth setup, despite limited first-team time under Pep Guardiola.
Brahim went on to play two seasons on loan with AC Milan. During his time in Italy, he showed flashes of technical skills and keen vision that made him one of the most promising talents in Europe.
This season, Brahim has not featured regularly in the starting eleven for Carlo Ancelotti. He has played 34 matches so far, with 16 as a starter, scoring four goals and providing seven assists across all competitions.
