Rabat – Morocco’s Atlas Lion Brahim Diaz continues to make headlines for his spectacular performance, giving Real Madrid a win against Atlético Madrid on Tuesday.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has described Brahim Diaz as a “lethal weapon” for Morocco and Real Madrid.

On Wednesday, the confederation highlighted Diaz’s spectacular performances in a fiery Champions League match against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, giving Real Madrid the win.

“His impact has been growing under Carlo Ancelotti, and with the Club World Cup on the horizon, Diaz is shaping up to be a key figure for Los Blancos,” the confederation wrote.

CAF also pointed to his successful switch to Morocco in 2024, describing his decision to switch international allegiance from Spain to the North African kingdom as “bold.”

It also celebrated his debut for Morocco, after which he scored six goals in four matches during AFCON 2025 qualifiers “making him the tournament’s top scorer at this stage.”

Diaz’s made international headlines, with leading media outlets like Al Jazeera, the BBC, the Guardian, and the New York Times all endorsing Diaz’s performance.

Marca joined the chorus of media celebrating Diaz, describing his goal for Real Madrid on Tuesday as a “superb” winner.

In the 2024-2025 season, Diaz appeared in 21 games, scoring four goals and making two assists. In the Champions League, Ancelloti put him in the lineup eight times, where he scored two goals and made one assist.

His total appearances in all competitions this season reached 36, with six goals and seven assists.

CAF is convinced that the Atlas Lion could achieve more, noting that Diaz “appears ready to step into the global spotlight” with Real Madrid during the FIFA Club World Cup and the 2025 AFCON in Morocco later this year.

“With his performances at club and international level reaching new heights, 2025 could be the year of his ultimate breakthrough,” CAF concluded.
