Hakim Ziyech netted his first goal for Al-Duhail as they beat Al-Ahli SC 4-2 in the Qatar Stars League on Saturday night.
After Michael Olunga’s equalizer in the 72nd minute made it 2-2, Ziyech fired in a brilliant free-kick to put his team 3-2 up with just eight minutes to go.

It was an important goal for Ziyech, who is working to get back to his best form after joining the Qatari side in January, coming from a disappointing spell in Turkiye with Galatasaray.
In the press conference after the game, Al-Duhail manager Christophe Galtier admitted that Ziyech’s style of play helped Al-Ahli get a better understanding of how his team operates.
“We have players like Hakim Ziyech and Edmilson Junior who always want the ball in the middle,” Galtier said. “This gave our opponents a chance to study our game.”
He added: “There’s been some inconsistency in our performances, but we’re working to fix the mistakes. Early in the season, we were scoring plenty of goals and winning comfortably, thanks to the good chemistry between the players. But as the games have piled up, fatigue has started to show.”
Ziyech joined Al-Duhail from Galatasaray in the winter transfer window, signing a deal that runs until 2027.
Speaking ahead of his team’s match against Al-Shahaniya last week, the former Chelsea star revealed he’s still working on getting back to peak form and is taking his time to adjust to both the club and the Qatar Stars League.
“I’m working every day to get back to my best,” Ziyech said. “It’s a gradual process, but I’m confident that I will get there.”
