Mrirt – German public TV channel Das Erste’s popular magazine “Brisant” has included Tangier in its top ten travel destinations for 2025. The Moroccan city earned its spot among worldwide getaways recommended specifically for German travelers looking to explore beyond their homeland.

The Friday Travel feature on Brisant features Tangier alongside diverse international destinations including the Greek islands, Serbia’s Mokra Gora, Finland’s Jyväskylä, England’s East Sussex, France’s Tarn region, Albania, Mexico’s Guadalajara, the Faroe Islands, and Peru’s Arequipa.

Editors encourage German tourists to venture beyond their typical vacation spots like Mallorca, Italy, and Croatia to discover Tangier’s distinctive appeal. The magazine draws attention to the city’s geographic uniqueness, positioned at the crossroads of Africa and Europe, where Atlantic waters meet the Mediterranean.

For visitors to this northern Moroccan gem, Brisant puts forward must-see attractions, including the Kasbah Museum and the historic medina. The feature points out exceptional diving opportunities, where underwater explorers can witness the interplay of algae, rock formations, and vibrant fish schools.

Another recommended stop is the legendary Caves of Hercules, which blend mythological significance with striking natural beauty.

German visitors to Morocco reached 826,282 in 2024, marking a 22% jump from the previous year and signaling strong potential for continued tourism development between the countries.
