Rabat — The General Directorate of National Security launched its 6th annual Open Days event yesterday evening under the slogan “Proud to Serve a Distinguished Nation and Glorious Throne.”
The celebration, held at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Center in El Jadida, runs from May 17-21 and combines institutional commemoration with public engagement.
The opening coincided with the 69th anniversary of Morocco’s National Security establishment. High-ranking Moroccan civil and military officials attended the ceremony alongside international security delegations representing police and intelligence agencies from Arab and foreign countries.
Representatives from security agencies in Spain, France, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE attended the ceremonial launch.
Regional Police Commissioner Reda Achbouh delivered the opening speech, focusing on the significance of the anniversary and explaining the objectives of the 6th Open Days initiative.
He described the initiative of a civic nature that strengthens the values of openness and communication between security institutions and society.
Notable attendees at the launch also included Dr. Mohamed Bin Ali Koman, Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, President of Interpol, and Abdulmajeed bin Abdullah Al Bunyan, President of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences.
A major parade followed the ceremony, featuring various Morocco’s DGSN’s units, including urban police divisions, traffic teams, anti-gang squads, special forces, mounted units, and police dog handlers.
The event also featured advanced rapid intervention equipment, bomb disposal vehicles, and mobile command centers.
This year’s ceremony introduced new police vehicles with updated visual branding that now includes the Amazigh language alongside Arabic and French.
Including the Amazigh on police vehicles aims to promote the country’s linguistic diversity in public services and also reflects DGSN’s active partnership with the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform.
