Set to initially employ 60 people, the new facility will manufacture components for magnetic bearings and high-speed electronic motors, the company said in a press release.

Headquartered in Gothenburg, SKF believes the new Morocco facility will help it meet the increased demand for these components, as well as consolidate its position as a global leader in this area.

“The factory will enable the production of modular and scalable products that can be easily integrated into various applications,” said the company.

SKF explained that magnetic solutions’ ability to operate efficiently at high speed, without friction, and with minimal maintenance. These components are key for high-speed machinery like compressors, turbines, and motors.

“We are excited about the economic and competitive advantages this new facility will bring, positioning SKF as a key partner in the sustainability transformation,” said Thomas Fröst, President of Independent and Emerging Business at SKF.

Fröst added that the new factory supports the company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation through “decarbonization, electrification, and system intelligence.”
