Rabat – Olympic Dcheira has made history by reaching the top tier of Moroccan football, the Botola Pro D1 Inwi, for the first time ever.

The team secured their promotion on Friday after defeating Jeunesse Sportive Soualem (JSS) 3-0 in the second leg of the promotion playoffs, held at the Municipal Stadium in Berrechid.

Although Olympic Dcheira had lost the first leg 2-1 at home in Dcheira on May 24, they came back strong in the return match. Led by their coach Hicham Louissi, a former player of Wydad Casablanca, the team dominated the game and showed incredible prowess.

The club has been a strong contender in Botola D2 over the past five seasons and has often come close to moving up to the top league.

Now, Olympic Dcheira will play among Morocco’s football elite in the 2025-2026 season.

Another playoff game will decide the second team to reach Botola Pro D1. Hassania Agadir will face Raja Beni Mellal today at the Grand Stade of Agadir. The first leg ended in a 0-0 draw.

As soon as the final whistle blew, fans flooded the streets of Dcheira to celebrate. They celebrated with flares, fireworks, and loud chants.

“At this moment, at 5 a.m., our bus arrives at the club’s stronghold, the city of Dcheira El Jihadia, to a massive welcome from our passionate fans,” the club said in a statement.

“Priceless moments… Thank you to our loyal supporters for this love and immense support,” it added.
