Agadir – Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) forecasts thunderstorms, possible hail, and strong wind gusts in several regions today, alongside falling temperatures in the Eastern region, the Middle Atlas, and the southeast.
The DGM expects thunderstorms with a risk of hail in parts of the Atlas Mountains and neighboring western areas, the eastern highlands, and the southeastern regions.
The northern and central Atlantic plains and the Rif will see clear to partly cloudy skies, with scattered showers in some areas.
Low clouds and fog patches will also form along parts of the Atlantic coast during the morning and night.
The forecast also points to moderate to fairly strong wind gusts in the Sahara provinces, with blowing dust expected in some areas.
Temperatures will fall in the Eastern region, the Middle Atlas, and the southeast, while remaining relatively stable or rising slightly across the rest of the country.
Minimum temperatures will range from 2 to 8 degrees Celsius in the Atlas Mountains and the Rif, 10 to 15°C in the Eastern region and the southeast, and 15 to 21°C elsewhere.
Temperatures across Morocco
Several cities will record daytime highs above 25°C on Sunday, according to the DGM.
Es-Semara will reach 31°C, while Aousserd will record the country’s highest forecast maximum at 33°C. Taounate and Laayoune will each reach 29°C, followed by Tangier and Fez at 28°C.
In the country’s main urban centers, temperatures will reach 25°C in Rabat and Casablanca, 26°C in Oujda and Marrakech, and 24°C in Agadir.
Mountain areas will experience cooler conditions. Ifrane will record a minimum of 7°C and a maximum of 16°C, while Midelt will see temperatures ranging from 12°C to 19°C.
Sea conditions will remain calm to slight in the Mediterranean, the Strait of Gibraltar, and areas north of Mehdia.
South of Mehdia, the sea will be slight to moderate, according to the meteorological service.
