Rabat – Chelsea and Benfica are facing off tonight, racing for a spot in the quarterfinal of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Tonight’s Round of 16 match between the English and Portuguese clubs will take place at 9 p.m. Moroccan time at Bank of America Stadium in North Carolina.
Sports-focused website Goal expects Chelsea to secure a spot in the quarterfinal game as ”Benfica were completely unfancied to win Group C.”
The Spanish club, however, was able to win against Bayern Munich, while Chelsea, according to the website, could not perform well in Group D due to “their poor showing against Flamengo.”
The lineup for Benfica could include Trubin, Aursnes, Silva, Otamendi, Dahl, Sanches, Barreiro, Di Maria, Kokcu, Schjelderup, and Pavlidis.
As for Chelsea, the English club is expected to call up James, Adarabioyo, Colwill, Sanchez, Cucurella, Caicedo, Fernandez, Neto, Palmer, Madueke, and Delap.
Saturday’s fixtures also include a match between Palmeiras vs Botafogo.
As of Sunday, PSG and Inter Miami will meet at 5 p.m., and Flamengo and Bayern Munich will face off at 9 p.m.
