Rabat — In the Gaza enclave, innocent Gazans continue to battle, not only the Israeli Occupation Forces’ (IOF) bombardments, but the hunger looming over their lives.
The Gaza Health Authorities have reported that at least four Palestinians died of starvation and malnutrition in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of hunger-related deaths in Gaza to 197, including 96 children.
The Ministry attributes the growing toll to the ongoing Israeli blockade and lack of humanitarian access.
The IOF’s airstrikes across Gaza killed at least 98 Palestinians, including 51 aid seekers, and injured 603 in the past 24 hours.
The number of deaths from Israeli genocide on Gaza has reached over 61,158 Palestinians and 151,442 wounded, including 1,655 children.
As international agencies warn of deepening famine, local health officials describe the humanitarian situation as “catastrophic.”
Israel has been adopting starvation tactics as a weapon of war against Gaza since March 2, blocking entry of food and aid through border crossings.
The international community has responded to the shocking images coming from the enclave, describing the situation as a “human catastrophe.”
Major international powers have decided to recognize the statehood of Palestine, including France, the UK, Canada, and Portugal. They cited the inhumane situation that is taking place in Gaza, as well as Israel’s plans of annexation of Palestinian territory.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and the World Health Organization have warned that starvation and malnutrition among children under five is alarming.
