Rabat — Israel has ordered 60,000 new reserve call-ups this morning. In addition, 20,000 soldiers already on duty will see their orders extended.

The announcement came after what the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) described as “in-depth discussion” on the manpower needed to press ahead with its genocidal campaign.

In northern Gaza, the IOF has resumed its attacks on Jabalia and the outskirts of Gaza City, obliterating entire neighborhoods.

Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abnu Azzoum, reporting from Deir el-Balah, relayed testimonies from survivors who said the IOF have leveled tower blocks, turning whole districts into “wasteland.”

Israel is not receiving unified domestic support for its reinforcement for its genocidal agenda. Relatives of Israeli hostages held in Gaza denounced the Defense Ministry’s approval of the plan to storm Gaza City.

They accused the government of spurning a ceasefire proposal accepted by Hamas, describing the decision as “a stab in the heart“ further putting their relatives in danger.

On Monday, Hamas confirmed to mediators that it agreed to a new ceasefire plan brokered by Qatar and Egypt.

The proposal includes a 60-day truce and an exchange in which half of the 50 remaining Israeli hostages would be freed in return for Palestinian prisoners.

Meanwhile, hungry and desperate civilians inside Gaza continue their flight southward, although no part of the besieged enclave offers safety.

Medical sources told Al Jazeera that the IOF have killed at least 35 Palestinians in Gaza since dawn. Among the dead are 10 people who had gone out in search of aid, only to be inhumanly gunned down in central and southern parts of the enclave.
