Rabat – Tarik Moufaddal, CEO of the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN), was elected President of Cluster ENR Maroc, taking the helm of the country’s key renewable energy network.
His election marks a new phase for the cluster as it seeks to position renewable energy as a driver of industrial growth, competitiveness, and regional development, creating lasting value for Morocco’s economy and local communities.
Moufaddal outlined a vision that emphasizes emerging technologies, including batteries, energy storage, and green hydrogen, reflecting Morocco’s ambitions to strengthen its leadership in the industrial and energy sectors.
His leadership comes as the cluster renews its board of directors, bringing together 22 members representing major companies, innovative SMEs, professional federations, universities, research centers, and financial institutions, ensuring both continuity and fresh perspectives across the ecosystem.
The election took place during the cluster’s elective general assembly at Casablanca’s Four Seasons Hotel, attended by over 150 members and institutional partners, including representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development.
Ministers Ryad Mezzour and Leila Benali touched upon the cluster’s pivotal role in mobilizing expertise, fostering industrial integration, and supporting sustainable job creation.
“The holding of this Elective General Assembly reflects the cluster’s renewed dedication to the energy transition and opens the way to a new momentum, bringing opportunities for the national renewable energy ecosystem,” Mezzour said.
“Cluster ENR has a crucial role to play in the national dynamics of the energy transition,” Bengali added. “By bringing together expertise, driving innovation, and promoting industrial integration for more affordable, low-carbon energy, the cluster helps strengthen business competitiveness, develop local supply, and support the creation of sustainable jobs.”
Since its founding in 2014, Cluster ENR Maroc has become a central hub for Morocco’s renewable energy and green economy, uniting 300 members across the entire value chain.
Over the years, it has supported 800 startups through its green incubator, executed 100 collaborative projects in solar, wind, energy efficiency, and smart grids, and trained 2,500 professionals.
The cluster has also contributed to the creation of 750 green jobs and 300 local income-generating initiatives, demonstrating its concrete impact on both the national economy and regional development.
With Moufaddal now at the helm, Cluster ENR Maroc seeks to further accelerate Morocco’s transition toward a competitive, low-carbon energy future.
