Hakim Ziyech could be set for an unexpected next chapter in his career. The 32-year-old, currently a free agent after short spells in Turkey and Qatar, has reportedly attracted interest from Romanian side CFR Cluj and Italian club Genoa.
Ziyech, Chelsea’s €40 million signing in 2020, spent three seasons at Stamford Bridge before moving to Galatasaray and Al-Duhail. Since leaving Qatar in July, he has been without a club, though that could soon change.
According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Ziyech is considering an offer from CFR Cluj and may announce his decision as early as Monday. The winger recently terminated his six-month contract with Al-Duhail and is currently in the Netherlands, where he was seen attending a court hearing in Amsterdam to support friend Quincy Promes.
Both Cluj and Genoa are reportedly eager to add Ziyech to their squads. The Moroccan international has asked for time to consult with his family before making a final decision on his next move, according to Africa Foot.
Ziyech’s recent form has been mixed. During his time at Galatasaray, he scored eight goals and provided five assists in 34 appearances, but struggled to meet expectations consistently.
Despite this, his experience in top European leagues and attacking quality remain attractive to clubs looking for a creative boost.
