Rabat – Brazilian legendary football player Ronaldo Nazario commended Morocco’s U20 historic triumph at the FIFA World Cup.
In a recent interview, the legendary football player commented on the Atlas Cubs’ performance, saying: “We don’t like to lose, but against Morocco, we were outplayed.”
Morocco defeated Brazil in the stage group 2-1. For Ronaldo, when “football gives us such a beautiful story as Morocco’s, we can only appreciate it.”
The Atlas Cubs made history after winning the U20 World Cup title, defeating Argentina 2-0 in a thrilling game. The national team confirms Morocco’s strength as well as the country’s football development on the international stage.
The national team returned from Chile on Monday, but today will mark a historic homecoming ceremony that King Mohammed VI will be presiding over in favor of the Atlas Cubs.
A royal reception will also take place today to honor the Atlas Cubs. Following the royal welcome, Moroccans will greet and welcome the national team in a grand public parade around Rabat at around 6:30 p.m.
Morocco’s historic achievement is being celebrated across the world, including among celebrities and high-level football officials like FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
“A fantastic final match here in beautiful 🇨🇱 Chile saw 🇲🇦Morocco being crowned champions of the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2025 in front of over 43,000 fans! 👏,” Infantino wrote on his Instagram following the win.
He congratulated Morocco as well as Argentina for their great run in the tournament.
