Morocco captain Ghizlane Chebbak has been named in the 2024–25 FIFPRO Women’s World XI, becoming the only African and Arab player included in this year’s line-up.
The 35-year-old midfielder earned her place after an impressive season across Spain and Saudi Arabia, where she played for Badalona and Al Hilal. Her performances and leadership have made her one of Africa’s most respected footballers.

Chebbak’s selection puts her alongside some of the biggest names in the women’s game, including England’s Lucy Bronze, Spain’s Aitana Bonmatí and Alexia Putellas. Bronze, now at Chelsea, made history with her eighth career selection – the most by any female player.
England dominated the Women’s World XI, with six players named following their back-to-back European Championship wins. Millie Bright, Leah Williamson, Alessia Russo, Chloe Kelly and goalkeeper Hannah Hampton joined Bronze in the final list.

Chebbak’s inclusion continues Morocco’s growing presence on the global stage after the team’s landmark run at the 2023 Women’s World Cup, where they became the first Arab nation to reach the knockout stage and finished as runners-up in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
In the men’s category, Paris St-Germain led the selections with five players — Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, Ousmane Dembélé and Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has since joined Manchester City. Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal became the youngest player ever named in the Men’s World XI at 18.
The FIFPRO World XI is the only global football award voted for solely by professional players. More than 26,000 footballers from 68 countries took part in this year’s vote.
