Rabat – Turkish club Beşiktaş has tabled an offer to sign Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah following his departure from Liverpool.
Salah has parted ways with the English club after nine years, sparking interest from multiple clubs around the world, including Beşiktaş.
“Beşiktaş has made its first offer to Mohamed Salah. In the initial meeting, Salah, who demanded an annual salary of 15 million euros, lowered his salary expectations to join Besiktas. The player’s lawyer has arrived in Istanbul,” Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reported.
While Salah was expected to join the Saudi Pro League, reports from Turkish media confirmed that he was reluctant to join Saudi clubs, and his family is eager to move to Istanbul.
Beşiktaş are determined to strengthen their attack with a world-class winger as they look to assemble a forward line capable of matching the firepower of both Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe.
During his time at Liverpool, the Egyptian star registered an outstanding record of 257 goals and 120 assists across 442 appearances, underlining the level of quality he would bring to the Turkish club.
Salah also helped his national team reach the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, beating Australia on penalties before losing to Argentina 3-2 in a historic match where Egypt showed off an outstanding performance against the Albiceleste.
