Rabat – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the CAF Awards 2025 will take place in Rabat, Morocco, on Wednesday, 19 November at 19:00 local time.
This annual event aims to recognize the top players, coaches, and teams that have made a significant impact in African football over the previous season.
The CAF Awards represents one of the biggest occasions in African football, as it brings together superstars from Africa and other continents. The event will celebrate excellence in both men’s and women’s competitions and in doing so, celebrate players, coaches, clubs and national teams.
The awards include:
- CAF African Player of the Year (Women) 2025
- CAF African Player of the Year (Men) 2025
- CAF Coach of the Year (Men and Women) 2025
- National Team of the Year (Men and Women) 2025

- CAF Young Player of the Year 2025
Nominees and recent winners at CAF Awards
CAF has published the complete and final list of nominees for its 2025 edition last month. The Men’s Player of the Year list showcases standouts like Achraf Hakimi (Morocco/Paris Saint-Germain) Mohamed Salah (Egypt/ Liverpool), or Victor Osimhen (Nigeria/Galatasaray).
For the women’s award, Zambia’s Barbra Banda (the reigning winner) ranks top of a strong list, which includes two Moroccan players Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaa Mssoudy, who have performed well internationally.
The previous winners really show the sport’s growing competition in recent years as seen when Ademola Lookman won in 2024 and Victor Osimhen won in 2023.
CAF has also released the Goal of the Year shortlist with three Moroccans nominated, allowing fans to vote on their favorite goal scored in interclub and national competitions. Exceptionally, that will be the only prize determined by the fans. For the rest, voting for award winners is determined by CAF’s Technical Committee, all head coaches and captains of national teams, selected media, and CAF Legends.
The choice of Rabat as a location for the ceremony deepens Morocco’s growing footprint in African football, as hosting in Marrakech in 2023 and 2024 will be followed by the 2025 awards, a consecutive three-year run.
The awards are expected to attract top players, coaches, and officials from across both continents, and closer to the date CAF will detail broadcasting information.
