Moroccan sports on the rise
These results bring Morocco’s total to one gold, two silver and two bronze medals. Morocco is no longer satisfied with participation; it’s now aiming for the podium. El Barodi’s win solidifies her as one of the country’s most promising swimmers who can continue to shine in African and international championships.
Fliyou’s performance means he can reach higher finishes with more speed and technique. The Moroccan Swimming Federation has to use these results to mean more investment in facilities, coaching and athlete development.
For the fans and aspiring athletes, these performances are an inspiration and proof that Moroccan swimmers can compete at a high level. As Morocco celebrates in Riyadh, the focus now is to maintain this momentum and build a sustainable foundation for long-term excellence in swimming.
The other two silver medals came from the men’s futsal team who reached the final unbeaten but ultimately lost to Iran and karateka Chaimae El Haiti who won silver in the women’s under-55 kg kumite after a great performance and fell in the final to Uzbekistan’s Sevinch Rakhimova.
These various medals show the country’s growing depth and diversity in multiple sports. Morocco is rising as a power in regional and international competitions.
