Rabat – A technical issue reported by Cloudflare today caused a major service disruption affecting multiple customers worldwide, including Morocco.
According to Cloudflare, the company is investigating an ongoing issue that caused errors for users across the world.
“Cloudflare is aware of and investigating an issue with potentially impacts multiple customers,” the group wrote on its system status.
The company emphasized that its customer inquiries are not affected, meaning customers can still reach the group through the Cloudflare dashboard.
“We are working alongside our 3rd party provider to understand the full impact and mitigate this problem,” the company wrote.
Saad Gouzou, tech expert, told Morocco World News (MWN) that this is the first time ever that this happened to Cloudflare.
“I have been working with Cloudflare for 10 years. This never happened before,” he said.
Cloudflare is a security service that works to improve the activities and performance of websites, protecting them from cyber attacks.
The company provides security products for businesses and individuals, including DNS and content delivery network, among other additional services, serving as a shield between websites and the internet.
Their products prevent crashes, malicious traffic, and hacking attempts, as well as bots that seek to break into sites.
In its recent update today, the company reported a widespread 500 error, acknowledging that its dashboard and API are also experiencing issues.
The company pledged maintenance in the Santiago datacenter today, stating that traffic could be rerouted from this location.
“There is a possibility of a slight increase in latency during this maintenance window for end-users in the affected region,” Cloudflare added.
