Rabat—Achraf Hakimi has been picked for FIFA’s The Best Men’s XI of 2025, the icing on the cake of a season that proved, without a doubt, he’s right up there with the world’s best footballers.
The Moroccan international gets the nod after a year that saw his exceptional consistency at the back and some seriously impressive attacking skills. From his spot on the right side of PSG’s defense, Hakimi showed exactly why he’s elite. A solid defender who also recorded 11 goals and 18 assists, making him a rare breed of full-back.
PSG were a major power in 2024–25 and Hakimi was a key player in their Champions League title and domestic dominance. And it was no surprise to see him come up big in the big games. The Atlas Lion has always been a player who delivers under pressure, and this season was no exception.

The FIFA Men’s XI is chosen by national team captains and coaches, media representatives and fans, so Hakimi’s inclusion reflects how widely admired he is across the football world.. He wasn’t the only PSG player to make the cut either, with Ousmane Dembélé crowned as Men’s Player of the Year and Luis Enrique named Best Men’s Coach.
The honour arrives just weeks after Hakimi was named CAF Player of the Year, and he finished sixth in the 2025 Ballon D’or rankings, which was a bit of a disappointment.
Hakimi is now in Morocco’s training camp with the national squad ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations. The captain of the Atlas Lions will have a key role to play as they head to the tournament in just 4 days. With a strong tournament in sight, he could complete an incredible run of personal and team achievements.
