Rabat – Morocco’s weather directorate forecasts continued rainfall, cold weather, and strong wind gusts in several provinces until Thursday.
In an alert today, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) forecasts heavy rainfall of 35 and 55 millimeters to hit several provinces starting today to Tuesday at 3 a.m. in Azilal, Khenifra, Beni Mellal, and Al Haouz.
Rainfall ranging from 25 to 35 millimeters will affect the provinces of Tiznit, Oujda-Angad, Youssoufia, Al-Hoceima, Nador, Driouch, Berkane, Safi, Essaouira, El Kelaa Seraghna, Chichaoua, and Khouribga during the same period.
The same weather will also affect Khemisset, Fuqih Ben Salah, E Hajeb, Sefrou, Taza, Guelmim, Sidi Ifni, and Taroudant.
Freezing temperatures of -10 degrees to -4 degrees Celsius are expected from Tuesday to Thursday in the provinces of Tinghir, Al Haouz, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Ifrane, Midelt, and Boulemane.
Temperatures from -4 to 0 degrees are expected during the same period in Jerada, Taourirt, Kenifra, Sefrou, Al Hoceima, Guercif, Taza, Chefchaouen, Figuig, Chichaoua, Taroudant, and Ouarzazate.
Wind from 57 to 85 kilometers per hour is expected from Tuesday, 6 a.m. to Wednesday, 9 a.m. in the provinces of Boulemane, Midelt, Nador, Jerada, Figuig, Driouch, Al Haouz, Tiznit, Tinghir, Taroudant, Sidi Ifni, Ouarzazate, and Guelmim.
Starting today and lasting to Tuesday 11 p.m., snowfall between 20 to 50 centimeters will hit the provinces of Ifrane, Boulemane, Khenifra, Al Haouz, Tinghir, Taroudant, Ourzazate, Midelt, Azilal, and Beni Mellal.
Snowfall of five to 15 centimeters is expected from Tuesday 6 a.m. to Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the provinces of Taza, Chichaoua, Figuig, Driouch, Jerada, Tarourit, Sefrou, Al Hoceima, and Guercif.
