Rabat—Speaking in a post-game interview after Egypt beat Benin in the Round of 16, Ahmed Sayed, commonly known as Zizo, said he was a bit taken aback by the relatively small number of Moroccan supporters at the game and said he’d really love to see fuller stadiums for Egypt’s upcoming matches. He’s even decided to go and buy a bunch of match tickets for himself and then give them out to Moroccan fans to try and get them to come out and cheer Egypt on.
The move by Zizo is just another example of how determined Egypt are to keep pushing on and stay ahead of the game both on and off the pitch as they go deeper into AFCON 2025.

It’s worth noting that Moroccan fans have already played a major role in Egypt’s campaign, especially during the group stages in Agadir, where the Pharaohs had some really big crowds cheering them on against Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Those vocal supporters even got the Egyptian Football Association to go public with a thank you to the Moroccan fans, acknowledging the great welcome they gave the Egyptians early on in the tournament. The fellow Maghrebi support really made the Pharaohs feel like they were at home.
