Mohammedia – Crypto traders are getting a new way to gain exposure to precious metals as Binance expands its derivatives offering to include silver.
The exchange platform said its derivatives arm, Binance Futures, will launch silver perpetual futures contracts today, allowing users to trade the metal with leverage of up to 50 times.
The new product will track the price of silver in US dollars per troy ounce and will be available for trading as of 10 a.m. UTC.
The contracts will be margined and settled in Tether’s USDT stablecoin, with a minimum notional value of 5 USDT, according to an official announcement from the exchange. Funding fees will apply every four hours, with the rate capped at plus or minus 2%.
Perpetual futures are derivative instruments that allow traders to speculate on price movements without owning the underlying asset and without an expiry date.
Instead of settling at a fixed point in time, these contracts use periodic funding payments to keep prices aligned with the spot market.
Such products have become a central feature of crypto trading due to their constant availability, high leverage, and ability to support both bullish and bearish positions.
The launch of silver perpetuals follows Binance’s recent rollout of gold-linked perpetual contracts and reflects a broader trend among crypto traders toward diversification beyond digital assets.

Precious metals significantly outperformed much of the crypto market last year, drawing increased interest from traders accustomed to volatility.
Silver recorded a sharp rally in 2025, climbing 147% and reaching a record high of $83.75 per ounce before easing slightly.
At the time of writing, the metal was fluctuating between $79 and $80.
Gold also posted strong gains during the year, rising more than 64% to $4,317 per ounce. By contrast, Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market value, finished the year down more than 5%.
Market participants attributed the strong performance of precious metals to persistent fiscal and inflation concerns, with silver benefiting additionally from growing industrial demand, particularly in solar energy and electronics manufacturing.
Binance said the silver perpetual contract will be available for futures copy trading within 24 hours of its launch, enabling users to mirror the strategies of selected traders.
The exchange will also support multi-assets mode, allowing traders to use cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin as margin collateral instead of USDT, with risk adjustments applied.
With the rollout, Binance becomes the first major crypto exchange to offer perpetual futures tied to silver, building on a model previously introduced by smaller platforms including MEXC and BTCC.
