Rabat – Raja Casablanca officially announced on Wednesday the signing of Moroccan international Aymen Barkok during the ongoing winter transfer window.
The move comes as part of the club’s plan to strengthen its squad ahead of upcoming competitions. The club shared photos of the signing ceremony but did not reveal details of the contract length or financial terms.
Barkok expressed his happiness at joining Raja, saying he is proud to wear the club’s colors and will give his best for the fans. On his social media, he wrote: “Proud to join Raja Casablanca. Thank God, finally. Ready to give everything for my country and the supporters. Dima Raja.”
His arrival follows Raja’s earlier signing of Jordanian forward Mohamed Abu Zraik on a free transfer, showing the club’s intent to reinforce its roster this winter.
The 27‑year‑old midfielder has already represented the Moroccan national team and brings valuable experience from European football.
Barkok began his professional career in Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt, where he played in the Bundesliga and won the German Cup in 2018.
He later joined Fortuna Düsseldorf on loan, gaining regular playing time before returning to Frankfurt. In 2022, he signed for Mainz 05, competing again in the Bundesliga.
Most recently, he played for Schalke 04 in the German second division before deciding to return to Morocco and join Raja.
With his versatility in midfield and international background, Barkok is expected to add depth to Raja Casablanca’s squad. The club hopes his European experience will help them in domestic and continental competitions, as they aim to challenge for titles in the coming months.
