Rabat – Moroccan authorities have ordered the immediate blocking of several foreign online betting platforms accessible from Morocco, following a complaint by the Moroccan Lottery and Sports Games (MDJS).
According to converging reports, the judicial decision, issued on Monday, requires the country’s telecom operators to implement DNS and IP-level blocks on platforms such as 1xBet, Betwinner, Melbet, Linebet, Stake, Betway, Mostbet, and Sportsbet.io, along with all their subdomains.
Telecom operators face a financial penalty of MAD 10,000 ($1,085) per day for delays in enforcing the court order.
The ruling also targets local intermediary sites suspected of facilitating deposits and withdrawals for foreign platforms through national bank accounts and Moroccan phone numbers.
Among these are Herofoot, X1Mel, Melfoot, and Orange Depo.
The MDJS, which holds an exclusive legal monopoly over sports betting in Morocco, initiated the legal action.
The complaint relied on an official report drawn up by a court bailiff on December 15, 2025, which documented the accessibility and operation of fifteen online betting platforms from Moroccan territory.
The decision is part of the Moroccan judicial branch’s effort to strengthen the regulatory framework governing gaming and betting while holding all actors involved accountable.
