Marrakech – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has signed an agreement with Netflix to broadcast daily highlight shows of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco (AFCON) 2025 for subscribers in sub-Saharan Africa.
The program, titled “AFCON Daily Highlights,” marks CAF’s first major presence on a global streaming platform. It offers international audiences unprecedented access to African football through daily broadcasts featuring the best moments from each tournament day.
This partnership forms part of CAF’s broadcasting strategy to make African football more accessible while positioning it as an attractive product on the global stage. By opening content to streaming platforms, CAF explores new markets and provides a unique showcase for African culture and lifestyle through football.
The Morocco 2025 AFCON has already become the most successful in tournament history. The competition now reaches viewers in more than 180 territories, surpassing records set during the 2023 edition in the Ivory Coast.
Media interest has reached unprecedented levels. CAF has received over 5,400 media accreditation requests from around the world, with more than 3,800 media outlets and channels already accredited. The tournament has generated nearly 1,000 requests related to television broadcasting rights.
The competition’s success extends beyond traditional broadcasting partnerships. More than 15,000 volunteers were trained through a program with OFPPT to strengthen reception and assistance for supporters.
An additional 4,000 volunteers were mobilized through the official CAF volunteer program for operations including hospitality, spectator services, media, and logistics.
Stadium attendance during the group phase reached 729,240 spectators across 36 matches, averaging approximately 20,256 people per game. This total surpassed the previous edition in the Ivory Coast during the same phase, which recorded 643,585 entries.
The tournament has become a storm of social media attention, drawing global digital stars who turned AFCON into a cultural moment far beyond the pitch.

Saudi creator Khalid Alolayan, German-Nigerian travel and dance content creator Noel Goes Crazy, and global entertainer Nora Fatehi have all flooded feeds with immersive coverage of stadium atmospheres, Moroccan cities, street life, and hospitality – amplifying the tournament’s reach well beyond football audiences.
Tourism figures reflect the tournament’s economic impact. Morocco’s National Airports Office (ONDA) recorded 868,287 passengers between December 8-18, 2025, in the six host city airports, representing a 10.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Casablanca Mohammed V Airport alone handled 292,221 passengers, accounting for 33.7% of total traffic during this period.
The tournament has been buoyed by Morocco’s exceptional tourism momentum in 2025, with arrivals reaching 19.8 million, up 14% year on year, and travel revenues climbing to MAD 124 billion ($12.4 billion) by the end of November – an increase of 19% that has reinforced the country’s capacity to absorb large-scale international events.
Morocco currently hosts the tournament’s semi-finals, with the national team advancing to face Nigeria. The competition has served as a live stress test for future milestones, notably the 2029 Club World Cup and co-hosting the 2030 World Cup.
