Rabat – King Mohammed VI hosted a luncheon today in honor of Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko and his accompanying delegation.
The event was presided over by Morocco’s Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch.
Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch presided over the event, which brought together key officials from the two countries. From Senegal, participants included Minister of African Integration, Foreign Affairs, and Senegalese Abroad Cheikh Niang, Ambassador of Senegal to Morocco Seynabou Dial, and other members of Prime Minister Sonko’s delegation.
Representing Morocco were President of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami, President of the House of Councillors Mohamed Ould Errachid, Adviser to the King Omar Kabbaj, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita, and Ambassador of Morocco to Senegal Hassan Naciri.
Earlier today, Prime Ministers Akhannouch and Sonko co-chaired the 15th Morocco-Senegal High Joint Committee meeting in Rabat.
Sonko and Akhannouch reaffirmed Morocco and Senegal’s commitment to deepening cooperation across multiple sectors.
They recalled the values of brotherhood, solidarity, and mutual respect, as well as the mutual contributions between Moroccan and Senegalese respective communities residing in each other’s countries as a testament to the strong ties.
The 15th session of the Morocco-Senegal High Joint Committee provided a platform to explore new areas of collaboration and reinforce a partnership spanning diplomacy, trade, culture, and development.
The session concluded with the adoption of a joint statement and the signing of multiple cooperation and partnership agreements, memorandums of understanding, and agreement protocols.
