Casablanca Airport Police Arrest Tunisian Man Wanted by Interpol

Rabat – Moroccan security services arrested over the weekend a 27-year-old Tunisian national at Mohammed V International Airport after authorities identified him as the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by Tunisian judicial officials.

Officers carried out the arrest on Sunday shortly after the suspect arrived on a flight from Portugal, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) said in a statement. 

Routine checks through the database of Interpol revealed that the man appeared on a red notice circulated at the request of Tunisia’s National Central Bureau.

Investigators in Tunisia suspect the man of links to a criminal network involved in document forgery, the use of falsified papers, and car theft operations.

After the arrest, Moroccan authorities placed the suspect under extradition procedures in line with instructions from the competent public prosecutor. 

Interpol Rabat notified its counterpart in Tunisia to initiate the formal handover process.

Police officials said the operation reflects Morocco’s role in international security coordination, particularly in efforts that target suspects linked to cross-border crime and those subject to global arrest notices.
