Royal Air Maroc released a statement on Tuesday saying it is strengthening its presence in Brazil following the resumption of its direct route between São Paulo and Casablanca in December 2024. The airline currently operates four weekly flights on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
Othman Baba, the airline’s regional director for Latin America, said capacity between Morocco and Brazil has increased significantly. “In 2025, we offered around 85,000 seats with three weekly flights. Since December, we moved to four weekly flights, reaching about 130,000 seats in 2026, a 30% increase,” he said.
The airline said the expansion reflects growing demand, especially from travelers in Arab countries seeking cultural and nature-based tourism experiences.
Royal Air Maroc also pointed to its broader network growth through its hub in Casablanca, with new destinations aimed at strengthening its role as a transcontinental carrier linking Brazil to Africa, Europe, and the Arab world.
Brazil’s Tourism Minister, Gustavo Feliciano, described ties with Arab countries as strategic for expanding Brazil’s tourism sector. He said efforts are underway to improve air connectivity, infrastructure, promotion, and investment facilitation to position Brazil as a competitive destination.
William Adib Dib Jr., head of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, said the agreement represents a concrete step in strengthening economic relations and opening new opportunities for investment and partnerships.
Meanwhile, Moroccan National Tourist Office representative Mohamed Amine El Joudani spoke about the rising Brazilian tourism to Morocco. Visitor numbers increased from about 34,000 in 2023 to nearly 60,000 in 2025, driven by targeted promotion, professional training, and partnerships.
