Rabat – Barcelona’s forward Lamine Yamal has spoken publicly after being ruled out for the rest of the season, assuring fans that he will return stronger despite the disappointment of missing crucial matches.

The 18‑year‑old addressed supporters on social media today following confirmation of a serious knee tendon injury suffered against Celta Vigo.

Yamal admitted his sadness for being sidelined, especially at a decisive stage of the campaign.

“This injury has taken me away from the pitch at the moment I most wanted to be there,” he wrote. “It hurts more than words can explain. I cannot fight alongside my teammates or help when they need me most, but I believe in them and know they will give everything.”

Yamal added that he will continue to support Barcelona from the stands. “This is not the end, only a pause. I will come back stronger and more motivated. Next season will be much better.”

Earlier on Thursday, Barcelona released an official medical report confirming Yamal had suffered a tear in the left knee tendon. The club stated he will follow a conservative treatment plan and will not play again this season.

The injury has created concern within the club, as Yamal has been one of their standout performers. He was forced off during the 1‑0 win over Celta Vigo, a result that kept Barcelona top of La Liga with 82 points.

Barcelona will now be without their rising star for the upcoming Clásico against Real Madrid on May 10, a fixture that could prove decisive in the title race.

Despite their lead over rivals, losing Yamal is a major blow to coach Hansi Flick’s plans.
