Agadir – Attijari Payment and Africa-Exchange have signed a partnership agreement aimed at accelerating the adoption of electronic payment solutions and supporting the modernization of currency exchange offices across Morocco.

As an economic interest group operating in Morocco, Africa-Exchange provides services dedicated to manual foreign exchange operations and currency transactions.

According to a press statement Attijariwafa shared on Wednesday, the agreement was signed on April 28 in Casablanca. It brought together the expertise of both entities to deliver secure and modern payment solutions tailored to the needs of foreign exchange operators, in line with evolving consumer habits and regulatory requirements.

The partners seek to enhance the operational efficiency of exchange offices while improving the overall customer experience, stressed the statement, explaining that this aligns with broader efforts to advance digital transformation within Morocco’s financial sector.

“This partnership with Africa-Exchange fully aligns with our ambition to support players in the financial sector in their digital transformation through reliable, secure, and innovative payment solutions,” said Fahd Bettache, CEO of Attijari Payment.

“Currency exchange offices play a key role in the financial ecosystem, and their modernization represents an important lever for strengthening financial inclusion and improving the customer experience,” he added.

For its part, Africa-Exchange emphasized the added value the partnership will bring to its services and clients.

In combining Attijari Payment’s expertise in electronic payment systems with Africa-Exchange’s experience in foreign exchange operations, it argued, this promising partnership aims to contribute to the development of a more modern and innovation-driven financial ecosystem in Morocco.

“By partnering with Attijari Payment, we are strengthening our ability to offer high value-added services to our clients,”  said Mahmoudi Abderrazak, President of Africa-Exchange. “This partnership enables us to integrate efficient and secure payment solutions, thereby improving operational efficiency and the quality of service of our exchange office.”
