Rabat – King Mohammed VI has addressed a message to Moroccan pilgrims departing for Hajj, urging them to prioritize discipline and spiritual focus while performing the religious journey.

Minister of Islamic Affairs Ahmed Toufiq read the message on Monday before the first group left Rabat-Sale Airport. The King congratulated the pilgrims on being able to perform Hajj, describing it as a great blessing. He expressed hope that their prayers and rituals would be accepted, and that they would return home safely.

He stated that Hajj is a deeply spiritual journey that requires sincerity, patience, and constant remembrance of God. The monarch encouraged the pilgrims to dedicate their time to prayer, supplication, and reflection, especially during the performance of rituals.

The King outlined eight main guidelines. He called on pilgrims to properly observe all the rites of Hajj, including its pillars, duties, and recommended acts. He stressed the importance of good behavior, urging them to show tolerance, solidarity, and respect for others, in line with Islamic values.

He also highlighted the need to follow organizational rules set by Moroccan authorities and Saudi officials to ensure a smooth pilgrimage. Morocco has put in place teams of religious guides, medical staff, and administrators to assist pilgrims throughout their journey.

In addition, the King reminded pilgrims to respect the regulations established by King Salman bin Abdulaziz and supported by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, which aim to ensure safety and proper management of the pilgrimage.

He also encouraged pilgrims to represent Morocco positively by reflecting the country’s values of moderation, unity, and respect. The monarch described them as ambassadors of Morocco’s culture and traditions.

King Mohammed VI concluded by calling on pilgrims to pray for Morocco, for its unity and stability, and for the well-being of the royal family, including Crown Prince Moulay Hassan, as well as for the late kings Mohammed V and Hassan II.

Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam. It is a mandatory religious pilgrimage to Mecca that every Muslim must perform once in their lifetime if they are physically and financially able.
