Meknes – Moroccan youth international Abdellah Ouazane has spoken about his unsuccessful transfer to Real Madrid, describing the experience as a significant lesson in his professional career.
Despite the challenges involved, the young player stated that the process helped him better understand the football industry and led to his decision to remain with Ajax.
In an interview on the Ajax club channel, the 17-year-old player acknowledged his disappointment over the collapsed move but noted that the experience taught him how rapidly negotiations can shift.
He pointed out that the circumstances surrounding a transfer deal can change entirely within a single day: “That period was disappointing because the transfer was not completed, but on the other hand, I learned a lot about how the football world works, and how things surrounding any deal can change in just 24 hours.”
The midfielder added that the experience guided his decision to commit to the Dutch club, viewing his stay at Ajax as the most beneficial step for his development. He indicated that continuing with the Eredivisie side represented his best option at this point in his professional career.
“I learned a lot from that experience, and it also helped me return to Ajax, which was the best decision for me at the time. I am very happy to play for Ajax, and grateful to get an opportunity during the pre-season,” Ouazane said.
Looking ahead, the young midfielder shared his enthusiasm for his current integration into the squad, emphasizing his desire to make a lasting impact at the club.
“This is my first training camp with the first team, and I look forward to contributing more to Ajax in the future,” he added.
The young midfielder enjoyed a productive campaign on the pitch this season, registering four goals and five assists in 25 appearances for Jong Ajax.
With a productive season behind him, the talented midfielder is now entirely focused on making the most of his opportunities and carving out a bright future with the Dutch giants.
