Rabat –Moroccan National Team goalkeeper Yassine Bounou was crowned champion of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup (King’s Cup) with his team, Al-Hilal, following a 2-1 victory over Al-Kholood this Friday evening at Al-Inma Stadium in Jeddah.

Bounou maintained his role as a cornerstone of the team where he played the entire duration of the fixture, despite an early goal from Al-Kholood’s Ramiro Enrique in the 4th minute. Al-Hilal responded with goals from Nasser Al-Dawsari and Moteb Al-Harbi.

The Moroccan goalkeeper’s composed presence between the posts was instrumental in neutralizing late attacks and securing the trophy for Al-Hilal.

This triumph serves as more than just a trophy, but it acts as a massive psychological lift for the veteran as he prepares to pivot from club duties to international service, heading into the 2026 World Cup preparations with the Atlas Lions.

Bounou’s latest success further reinforces his reputation as an elite talent in global football by consistently performing at the highest levels in both the Saudi Pro League and on the international stage, where he remains one of the most decorated and respected goalkeepers representing Morocco today.
