Rabat – Barcelona have reached a full agreement with coach Hansi Flick to extend his contract after guiding the team to a second straight La Liga title.
The deal comes days after the club sealed the championship with a 2-0 win over Real Madrid at Camp Nou.
According to reports, Flick and his agent, Pini Zahavi, finalized terms with Barcelona’s management.
The new contract adds one year to his current deal, keeping him in charge until June 2028.
It also includes an optional year tied to performance targets, which could extend his stay until 2029.
The extension is seen as recognition of Flick’s impact since arriving in 2024. Under his leadership, Barcelona have regained stability and won back‑to‑back league titles.
The agreement also positions him as a central figure in President Joan Laporta’s new mandate, which begins in July.

Negotiations were led by Zahavi and sporting director Deco. Zahavi’s close relationship with Laporta helped smooth the process, with both sides reaching a consensus quickly.
The club had been working on the renewal plan since April, identifying Flick as the right coach to lead the next phase of their project.
Interim president Rafa Yuste hinted during title celebrations that Flick’s future was already secure.
He commended the Germans’ adaptation to Barcelona’s culture and said the renewal would be “very simple.” Yuste added that Flick is happy in the city and has integrated well with the squad and staff.
While the agreement is complete, official confirmation is expected soon. For now, Flick remains focused on finishing the season strongly.
Barcelona have 91 points and 91 goals, with three matches left against Alaves, Real Betis, and Valencia.
The team is aiming to reach 100 points and 100 goals, a symbolic milestone that would further underline their dominance.
