Rabat – French President Emmanuel Macron said on Monday in Nairobi that Morocco’s education system represents “an extraordinary model” for the African continent.
“What Morocco has done, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, is an incredible revolution,” Macron said during the closing session of the Africa Forward business forum “Inspire & Connect,” held ahead of the “Africa Forward” summit.
He pointed to Morocco’s performance in primary, secondary, and higher education, including strong results at France’s prestigious Ecole Polytechnique, as an “extraordinary model” for Africa.
The French president also announced €23 billion in investments for Africa, stating that these projects “will create more than 250,000 direct jobs in France and Africa.”
Macron said the futures of Europe and Africa are closely linked, adding that Africa “needs investment” rather than public aid.
The “Africa Forward: Inspire & Connect” event brought together more than 1,500 business leaders, investors, and public officials from Africa, France, and other countries. Discussions focused on growth, investment, and the continent’s economic transformation.
Morocco’s Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, attended the closing ceremony of the business forum, which featured workshops, B2B meetings, and discussions bringing together executives from major African and French companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, young entrepreneurs, and public sector representatives.
