Rabat – Morocco’s Islamic Affairs Ministry announced today the launch of “Rakb Al Hajj,” an online application to support pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj season.

The application also aims to facilitate the performance of Hajj rituals for nationals selected for the 1447 Hajj season this year.

The ministry pledged that the application is part of its efforts to strengthen digital support for pilgrims and to improve their experience.

The app is available to download on Google Play and App Store, the ministry said, with the online platform offering video content, audio guides, and audio recordings of prayers and supplications.

It also provides a training library for pilgrims, orientation courses in Arabic as well as Tamazight, with a geographical guide to pilgrims’ accommodation locations in Mecca, the Medina, and the Holy Sites.

The number of Moroccans selected to travel for Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, this year amounts to 34,000.

About 22,200 pilgrims will travel under the official government-run system, while 11,800 others will go through approved travel agencies.

The cost for pilgrims under the official arrangement now stands at MAD 63,121 ($6,837), a decrease of MAD 3,000 ($324) compared with last year.

Earlier this month, King Mohammed VI addressed a message to nationals selected to go to Hajj this season, urging them to prioritize discipline and spiritual focus while performing their pilgrimage journey.

The Hajj season is expected to begin on May 25 and will continue until May 30.

One of the key rites during Hajj is the Day of Arafah, which is expected to fall on Tuesday, May 26.

Eid Al Adha will follow and is expected to fall on May 27, according to astronomers.
