Rabat – Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has expressed immense pride in his squad ahead of Sunday’s decisive CAF Champions League final second leg against AS FAR.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, the Portuguese tactician emphasized his deep understanding of their opponents, stating he knows the level and qualities of AS FAR perfectly.
Despite the expected atmosphere from the home crowd in Rabat, Cardoso remained calm, noting that players and coaches work their entire careers to compete in environments of this magnitude.
“This qualification is a great source of pride,” Cardoso said, reflecting on a grueling knockout run where his team eliminated several heavyweight opponents.
Cardoso added that his team must master every phase of the game, both in disciplined defending and retaining their identity in possession to get the job done and bring the ultimate continental crown back to South Africa.
Sundowns heads into the match holding a narrow 1-0 advantage from the first leg in Pretoria. For Cardoso, the stakes are historically high. After falling short in his previous two continental finals, he is determined to finally secure the title.
